Amy Adams in full Amy Lou Adams (born August 20 1974, Aviano Italy) American actress, especially noted for her critically-acclaimed performances of naive and charming characters. Adams was born to a U.S. Army officer in Italy and then grew up to be a resident of Castle Rock Colorado. At the end of the 1990s, she started professional dance and acting with Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. She then moved to Minnesota where she was scouted for Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mock documentary film that explored beauty contests. Her screen debut was a huge success with the role of an obnoxious but friendly contestant, Janet relocated to Los Angeles where she began professional acting. She appeared in a range of films that became popular over the decade that followed, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from 1960) and Living It Up (1954) with Martin Lewis.
